Well, it finally came. My birthday....and not just any birthday but my 30th! I was able to go to California for a couple of days and just hang with my friends, and EAT and drink my beloved Starbucks!!It was so wonderful to go back, even if I had a hoarse voice the entire time. I love my friends and I am so blessed to be apart of their ever changing lives.
The perfect murder dinner party...at the Hotel Paridiso- a.k.a Wes' beach house. I played Dame Barbara Carthorse, a hugely popular romantic novelist. The hardest part of the evening, wearing a pink tiara and high heels instead of comfy flip flops:) But it was great fun with good food and therefore a beautiful evening.
It felt like the world was about to end on Valentine's Day. I got more onlookers that evening and I definitely did not want the attention. But praise God I was not hurt and neither were the people at fault. I was driving home and heading through a busy intersection when I was hit by someone making a right turn in front of me. This makes for me my second international car accident ( How many people can claim that!!!???) and so I felt like a pro- just kidding. I pulled the damsel in distress act and called a friend to help me out. I think that if there was a funny part of the evening, it was when the Constable asked where I lived and I replied, "across from the dump" to which he said, "No, Ms.- not where you want the car to go, but where you live." So-once again, I am alive and well and in therapy (physical that is).
I think that this is one Valentine's day that reminds me how much my God truly loves me....
Our students like us...they really do!
And yes...a parent sent me this as well....interesting choice.
Cristin and I had dinner with a colleague and her daughter Presleigh( 4 ) this evening. Here is the quote of the day:
Me: What city are you from?
Presleigh in her southern voice: Bogalusa
Me: What state are you from?
Presleigh: The state of United.
Not too excited to see this guy in our apartment the other day. Not only will I check everything and anything before I use or move it, but I will have a can of Raid or hairspray nearby at all times.
So today was an incredible day where some of us headed into the ocean looking for Nemo, but not Nemo the fish....... Nemo the Dolphin.
