Melodie and Michelle
So, every week some of us find ourselves at the Rosas to eat, play cards, eat some more, and talk about some of the crazy things that are said in the classroom. This week's winner is Johnathan. Johnathan was teaching math and when the lesson ended, one of his high school students walked right up to him and said: "Mr. Rosa, could you please explain the lesson again? I wasn't listening at all." This quote was right up there though and it's my favorite. These parents pay the tuition monthly for their children to attend, and this just cracks me up. A student made this threat: Hand out another math homework assignment and I will just refuse to come back to school. As if they have another choice...lol.
Seriously though, we are all dealing with rough students who have very little motivation and it has been a little more challenging since the beginning of school. We are trying to get a handle on things, but our eyes are being even more opened to how much help these students need academically and spiritually. We all agree that it is different than we originally anticipated, but have come to the conclusion that God has us all there for a reason and we need to strive to be a loving as Christ is DAILY... even though some days are tougher than others. So, thank goodness for friendship/fellowship. Being able to laugh definitely helps the situation.
